We recorded 187 total layoffs among biotech companies last year, a 57% increase from 119 in 2022. We hope that trend reverses by 2024.

According to a New York WARN notice, the Big Pharma vaccine R&D center in Pearl River, NY, is planning to lay off 285 people beginning in February. The location is one of Pfizer’s nine major R&D facilities, and it now employs 1,012 people. The layoff wave is expected to end on March 25.
